Alzheimer's Association to host 'Chops and Chips Cookout'

PEORIA, Ill. -- Need lunch plans for next Friday? The Alzheimer's Association has got you covered.

The organization says it will be hosting its Chops and Chips Cookout at the Central Illinois Chapter office in Peoria.  For a $6 donation, hungry Peorians will get a pork chop or chicken sandwich and chips. 

Proceeds will benefit the Peoria Walk to End Alzheimer's.  The walk is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support, and research programs.

The Chops and Chips Cookout will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, August 24.  Order may be picked up at the office in Glen Plaza, 606 W. Glen Ave., Peoria.

Orders can be picked up for carryout or delivered to locations within the Peoria area that order five or more meals. Order ahead by calling the office at (309) 681-1100.
