GERMANTOWN HILLS, Ill -- "No shave November" has ended a little early for some Illinois State Troopers.
During the month of November, the ISP District 8 Troopers participated in a mustache contest.
Each trooper paid $10 to enter and there was an early shave fee for anyone who shaved before the end of the contest.
Tuesday, the Troopers presented a check for $530 to the Great Oaks Community Church's "Weekend Snack Pack" program.
The program provides food to children of families in need.
"We feed 150 students a little sack lunch that goes home with them every Friday afternoon. So each week we have 150 students times an estimated cost of $3 per student. So this will cover a week plus and allows us to have one more week during the year that we do not have to worry about where the funds or the food will come from," said Judy Winkler.
With the contest over, the troopers received a "penalty free" shave from Jake's Place Barber Shop in North Pekin.
