CANTON, Ill. -- Lincoln Elementary School in Canton was placed on a precautionary lock-down Monday while Police apprehended a "wanted fugitive" in the area.

According to a release, Canton police were alerted to 42-year-old Douglas Hauber's location just before 9 a.m. The information indicated that he was suicidal and in possession of weapons.

Hauber was apprehended just before noon after leaving a residence at 12 Redwood Circle, he did not have any weapons on his person at the time. Hauber was taken into custody on two arrest warrants from Fulton County and Mason County.

Authorities say Hauber indicated threats against police, but never the school itself. The lock-down ended around noon.
