A Peoria County Grand Jury has indicted Dieuseul Brown on charges of First Degree Murder, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, armed violence and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Brown is charged with the shooting of Kelsey Coleman on April 5th.
The 32-year-old Coleman died from a single gunshot wound to the back.
Coleman was the city’s third homicide victim of the year.
Initial reports said resident of 1612 Arago Street said Coleman was shot during a home invasion.
When Brown was arrested, police said he had cocaine in his possession.
Brown’s bond has been set at one and a half million dollars.
The same Grand Jury also indicted 25 year old Karrington Damere Walker on charges of attempted frist degree murder in the shooting of 21 year old Maurice Sargent.
Sargent was shot three times in the leg on April 5th as he sat in his car.
He attempted to drive himself to the hospital, but crashed his vehicle on Western Avenue.
