TUOLUMNE, Calif. -- A massive wildfire continues to burn on the outskirts of Yosemite National Park, threatening the nearby town of Tuolumne, California.

The fire has already charred close to 150,000 acres and now threatens more than 4,000 homes.

"It is continuing to grow in that area, all be it at a slow rate,” said firefighter Bjorin Fredrickson. “They're doing a lot of work with fire lines and contingency lines in case those lines fail, dropping a lot of fire retardant slow that fire down to buy firefighters time.”

Thousands of firefighters are on the ground, throwing every weapon they can at the massive fire as the flames inch closer to several communities along the western edge of the blaze.
