AFSCME ratifies contract with the state

AFSCME Council 31, which represents 35,000 state workers, has ratified a three-year contract with the Quinn administration.

The contract ends 15-months of negotiations and gives union members two-percent pay increases in years two and three of the deal.

The contract includes $900 million in health care savings to the state.
