CHICAGO, Ill. -- There may soon be another candidate in the race for the Illinois governor's mansion.
State Senator Kwame Raoul has said that he is considering a run for governor.
The Chicago Democrat was planning on running for attorney general if Lisa Madigan ran for governor.
Since she isn't, Raoul has decided to shift his focus towards sizing up a gubernatorial campaign.
However he said, before any decision is made, a big problem must first be solved.
"You know, you don't rule out anything. So I haven't ruled out anything but my focus right now is this pension reform problem," said Raoul, (D) Chicago.
If he runs, Raoul would be the third democrat in the race, joining Governor Pat Quinn and former White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley.
