CHICAGO, Ill. -- Just before a Thursday hearing, the attorneys for Illinois Treasurer Dan Rutherford asked a judge to dismiss the harassment lawsuit against him.

Rutherford has denied the charges filed against him by former employee Edmund Michalowski.

Rutherford's private attorneys filed a 16-page motion to dismiss the suit.

Michalowski claims he was denied raises and that he was sexually harassed by Rutherford.

Rutherford's attorneys say Michalowski hasn't presented any plausible claims that either took place.
