CHICAGO, Ill. -- Democrat Bill Daley intends to make it official, he's running for governor.
In a statement, Daley said he is committed to running for Illinois governor and has done away with his "exploratory committee" label.
Daley was expected to file paperwork Tuesday announcing his intentions.
The former white house chief of staff is a member of the famed Daley family in Chicago that has had political muscle for decades.
According to his campaign, he's raised $800,000 in just 19 days and has visited nearly a dozen Illinois counties.
