PEORIA, Ill -- Peoria' 5th District has a new representative.

Dan Irving has been ousted by Casey Johnson by a 54% to 46% margin.

Johnson said he is most looking forward to be a new voice for his constituents.

He said he is ready to dig and take his new seat around the horseshoe, "I obviously, as a new person to government, local government particularly, there is going to be a lot to learn. By the way we ran our campaign I think I showed people that I'm willing to put that hard work in and do what's necessary to make sure that we're up to speed as quick as possible."

Johnson will serve a four year term on Peoria's City Council.
