BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The primary for 13th Congressional District fielded candidates from both parties.
On the democratic side, former Madison County Judge Ann Callis emerged victorious.
She will face republican primary winner, incumbent Rodney Davis.
Davis said he is excited for the upcoming election but that won't distract him from the tasks at hand.
"We're going to have plenty of time over the next seven and a half months to talk differences between my opponent and me, when it comes to repealing and replacing Obamacare, when it comes to tax policy and when it comes to addressing and preserving and protecting our social security medicare systems," Davis said. "Right now I'm going to go back to Washington on Monday and continue to do the job that the hard working tax payers of this district sent me to do."
The 13th District covers parts of Bloomington, Decatur and Champaign.
