Peoria, Ill -- Illinois Congressman Aaron Schock tells News 25 he will not be running for governor in 2014.

Schock confirmed reports Thursday night that he would officially announce Friday that he would be staying in Congress.

The 31-year-old Congressman had previously told News 25 he was considering a run because he believed he could make a difference in Springfield.

Schock's announcement leaves other downstate republicans, State Senator Bill Brady and Treasurer Dan Rutherford, considering a run against incumbent Governor Pat Quinn.
