18TH District Republican Congressman Aaron Schock was part of the majority that got the bill passed.
Schock says it was a solid compromise after several months of ugly disputes.
It does not include higher taxes...or entitlement reform.
And Schock today told News 25/HOI 19 that could set stage for Washington's next big fight.
"We're back into our respective camps unfortunately and I think you're hearing tax hikes versus entitlement reform arguments and that'll be a debate next year as well - with the commission as well as in an election year, I think." Congressma Schock.
In all 174 Republicans and 95 Democrats in the House supported the compromise debt deal.
