PEORIA, Ill. -- Congresswoman Cheri Bustos, (D) 17th District, is working with local leaders on ways to improve the economy.

Bustos was in Peoria on Tuesday for the second of three regional economic meetings with business leaders and educators.

She said it is important to bring the brightest minds together to seek out ideas on how to bring more jobs to this region.

"We have sitting around the table people from education, small business, big business, manufacturing, healthcare, finance, economic, development at the state level, at the local level,” said Rep. Bustos. “When you get the right people talking about the same thing what you're going to do is you're going to find common denominators."

Bustos has another economic roundtable scheduled for the Quad Cities.

She said she plans to hold an economic summit in the fall to discuss ways to implement the job growth ideas.
