SPRINGFIELD, Ill - A copper sword has been stolen from Abraham Lincoln's burial site in Springfield.

The three foot long sword, which was part of a statue of a civil war officer on top of the tomb, was taken in the past month according to park officials.

Officials believe the sword was stolen by people looking to sell the copper for scrap.

As a result, State Representative Mike Unes renewed his call for stricter regulations on the buyers of recyclable metals.
