BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Monday, 13th District Congressional Candidate Rodney Davis visited the McLean County Republican luncheon.
Davis is trying to make himself known in the district, after a late arrival into the Congressional Race.
He just finished a 14 county tour to outline his positions, which include expanding business tax cuts, attacking the national debt, and repealing Obama Care.
Davis has 16 years of experience working for Congressman John Shimkus, something he says sets him apart from other candidates
"What I think that gives me is the ability to be courageous once I get there," said Davis, "and to provide leadership immediately after I get there. The type of leader that is going to not only vote the right way but also help others to understand what the issues are affecting Central Illinois."
Davis will run against Democrat Dr. David Gill of Bloomington for the seat.
Davis replaced incumbent Tim Johnson on November's ballot after Johnson announced he was stepping down after winning the primary.
