PEORIA, Ill -- The US House Ethics Committee released details about an investigation into Peoria Congressman Aaron Schock on Wednesday.
Schock, also said to be considering a run for Governor, is the subject of an investigation by the House Office of Congressional Ethics.
At question is whether Schock improperly solicited money for a primary campaign for Representative Adam Kinzinger.
A report found that there was "substantial reason to believe" Schock violated federal law, House rules and standards of conduct.
The committee is asking for some more time to evaluate the case.
Schock's Communications Director says Congressman Schock will be exonerated when the Ethics Committee resolves this matter."
