CHILLICOTHE, Ill -- In the race for Chillicothe Mayor former alderman Doug Crew has won, beating Sandi Levell and Former mayor Don White.

Crew will fill the seat of out-going Mayor Troy Childers who chose not to seek re-election.

The biggest issue facing Chillicothe right now is their ambulance service. Crew said he hopes Rescue 33 can come back as a paramedic service.

Beyond that, Crew is looking forward to building on core services and making good things happen in the city.

"The biggest thing really I think is growth and development, and that kind of builds on keeping a close on finances, building on basic services. If you've got those things in place then it's easier to focus on residential growth and business growth," he said.

Doug Crew, Chillicothe Mayor-elect, will take office in May and serve a four year term.
