Durbin Launches Interactive Map Website

WASHINGTON, DC.-- U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) has announced a new, interactive website that notates just how much the Middle Class Tax Cut Act will save Illinois families.

The website shows county-by-county statistics of the potential effects of the legislation, a measure expected to be voted on later in the week.

Durbin says the website is a useful tool for Americans to educate themselves on President Obama's middle class tax cut legislation.

"Whatever our rationale politically, it makes no sense that we would impose a new payroll tax on millions of hardworking families struggling to keep their heads above water," said Durbin.

Durbin says several key provisions of the legislation include cutting payroll tax for U.S. businesses, incentives to hire new workers, and protecting Social Security funding.
