CHARLOTTE, NC. -- Illinois Delegates served harsh words to Republicans at Tuesday's DNC breakfast in Charlotte, North Carolina.
During a fiery speech, Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan said that the American economy did not have to crash, accusing Republicans of being reluctant to reach across the aisle and work with Democrats.
"Over 9 million people did not have to lose their jobs. Over 4 million people did not have to lose their homes," said Madigan. "Countless millions of people did not have to defer their dreams of retirement or being able to help their child pay to go to college."
Illinois voices will continue to be prominent throughout the convention this week.
Governor Pat Quinn, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, and Suburban Chicago Congressional Candidate Tammy Duckworth are all scheduled to speak Tuesday night.
