SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- There's a major development in the state capitol.

A Sangamon County Circuit Court judge has delayed the implementation of pension reform measures in Illinois.

A coalition of state workers and retiree organizations filed suit against Senate Bill 1 arguing that the changes in the state's pension provisions is a violation of the Pension Protection Clause of the Illinois Constitution.

The judge has put a stop to pension reform until there's a court ruling on whether the bill is constitutional.
