"I have my fingers and toes and eyes and everything that I can crossed that we will get a bill that will put people back to work," LaHood said.
According to LaHood, he has not been involved in negotiations on a transportation bill.
He said they have provided technical assistance whenever Congress has requested it.

LaHood said a week from Friday, the extension on the current measure expires.
He is not sure what obstacles have prevented Congress from reaching an agreement on a package.
