NORMAL, Ill. -- McLean County residents will be able to get same sex marriage licenses later this month.

Last month, a federal court ruled that Cook County could start issuing marriage licenses to same sex couples immediately instead of waiting until gay marriage becomes legal June 1.

On Monday, the McLean County Clerk announced that they will follow suit and begin issuing the licenses on March 24.

Interested couples can schedule an appointment by calling the McLean County Clerk's Office.
