CENTRAL ILLINOIS -- A Republican candidate for the 18th Congressional District has been booted off the March Primary Ballot.
Darrel Miller of Danvers was hoping to take on Aaron Schock for the Republican nomination.
However, an investigation by the State Election Board ruled that Miller was 17 signatures short of the 600 needed to qualify for the election.
Miller contests the ruling, saying he had enough signatures to remain on the ballot.
The decision can be appealed in court, but Miller said that is unlikely to happen since he is a self-funded candidate.
