Peoria renaming intersection for former congressman

PEORIA, Ill. -- The city of Peoria is honoring Former Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood with an intersection.

Next Monday, city officials will rename the intersection of Main and Monroe the Honorary Secretary Ray LaHood Roadway.

This will be the first roadway named after the retried politician, but it may not be the last.

Last week, State Representative Jehan Gordon-Booth introduced a resolution to that would name portions of Interstate 74 reconstructed under the Upgrade 74 road Improvement Project the Ray LaHood Highway.
