The Governor's Office says Pat Quinn will sign legislation Sunday increasing penalties on gun owners who don't report the theft or loss of a weapon.

It's a law pushed by Chicago area legislators and Chicago Police Chief Garry McCarthy.

Police seize more guns off the streets of Chicago than New York and Los Angeles--combined.

A federal report says 3,300 guns were reported lost or stolen in Illinois last year.

They believed that's an under-count.

370 guns were reported missing by federally licensed gun dealers.
