CHICAGO, Ill. -- Republican businessman Bruce Rauner says he will run for Governor in 2014.

Rauner made the official announcement in a video released on his website Wednesday morning.

In the video Rauner says the state needs a 'political outsider' to fix things.

Rauner will face Illinois Treasurer Dan Rutherford in the GOP primary. Rutherford announced his run for Governor during a multi-stop tour of Illinois on Sunday.

Republican Senator Bill Brady (44th District) and Kirk Dillard (24th District) have also expressed interest in a run for Governor.

Governor Pat Quinn says he will seek re-election to the seat.
