CHICAGO, Ill. -- The wife of Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. says it's up to his doctors to say when Jackson will return to work.
Jackson has been missing from Washington since early June.
On Thursday, Sandi Jackson confirmed that her husband is at the Mayo Clinic.
"He was depressed, plus he was extremely exhausted. And, he was mal-absorbed from not getting enough nutrients. I have every confidence in the doctors at Mayo, that they will come up with the right combination of medications," said Sandi Jackson.
She said her husband has no addiction issues and that some of his problems are tied to his stomach surgery, a duodenal switch, done several years ago. He had been suffering from stomach ailments for close to eight years.
