CENTRAL ILLINOIS -- Cheri Bustos has won the victory in the 17th District U.S. Congress race.
Cheri Bustos and Republican incumbant Bobby Schilling faced off in a televised debate on October 25. That debate focused on job creation, the budget and even touched on the negative attack ads that many of have seen.
Bustos spent much of her campaign promising that she would stop tax incentives that promote sending jobs overseas.
Additionally, Bustos says her goal was to go to Washington to make a difference for middle class families.
Bustos said one of her campaign goals was to meet as many people as possible.
