Spanos Drops Out Of Judicial Race

PEKIN - Chris Spanos, the Democratic candidate for circuit judge in the 10Th Judicial Circuit, has withdrawn from the race.

Spanos was running against Associate Judge Kate Gorman for the judgeship left vacant when James Shadid was named to the Federal Judiciary.

Spanos said he was withdrawing from the November primary and would support his Republican former opponent, Judge Kate Gorman.

Spanos said Gorman has been "knowledgeable and fair" as an Associate Judge.

Gorman, if elected in November, would become the first woman elected in the 10th Judicial Circuit.
