State Primary Elections Beginning To Take Shape

PEORIA, Ill -- The 2012 primary races are beginning to take shape.

Candidates seeking seats in the Illinois House and Senate began filing their petitions Monday for the March 20th Primary Election.

According to our news partners at Radio 1470... Current Peoria County Board Member Allen Mayer and former Peoria City Councilman Jim Polk have filed for the democratic nomination for 46th District State Senator.

Mike Unes filed for another term as 91st District State Representative. He will be challenged in the general election by Democrat Jennifer Groves Allison of Peoria.

A final picture for 2012 primary races will be available after the filing period ends December 5th.
