SPRINGFIELD, IL. -- A $50 million supplemental budget bill is awaiting the governor's signature.
The measure passed by the general assembly this week, includes $33 million to implement Illinois' new concealed carry law.
However, it does not include money to pay back wages for some 25,000 state employees. Last month, Governor Quinn made a supplemental funding request of $221 million, which included the necessary $112 million to pay back state employees.
It is not clear if or when the legislature will vote on that request.
