Just in time for the holiday shopping season, Illinois Treasurer Dan Rutherford is auctioning unclaimed items out of the state's vault.

Rutherford says the online auction will feature more than fifteen thousand pieces of unclaimed property, including everything from jewelry to baseball cards.

The sale price of each item must reach at least 75 percent of the appraised value. One hundred percent of the sales proceeds will be held for the rightful owners.

The Illinois Treasurer's Online Unclaimed Property Auction began Monday and runs through Sunday, December 11 at 6 pm.
