SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- An amendment to protect Illinois voters will be on the ballot this November.

The proposal would make sure no one is denied the chance to vote based on race, sex, sexual orientation or income.

The idea came after restrictions were placed on voters in several states over the last year.

Governor Quinn released a statement on Thursday in full support of the bill.
