PEORIA, Ill -- The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that motorists should be prepared for complete stoppages of traffic on I-74 near Sterling Ave. in Peoria this weekend.
The stoppages are necessary for crews to replace a light tower just west of Sterling Ave. It will take place simultaneously in both directions for up to an hour at two separate times May 5 and/or May 6.
Message boards will be set up in advance of the location in both directions and will be updated when the work is about to begin.
