PEORThe Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announces that crews are in the process of changing the route designation signs along US 24 and IL 29 in Peoria and East Peoria.
A recent jurisdictional transfer resulted in the following changes:
· US 24
o US 24 will now travel across the Shade-Lohmann Bridge (I-474) from Bartonville and will connect with IL 29 in North Pekin
o US 24 will travel northeast through East Peoria and will continue to the US 150 and IL116 interchange, and then go east through Washington
o US 24 will no longer travel through Peoria
· IL 29
o IL 29 will now travel across the Murray Baker Bridge (I-74) from East Peoria and will connect with Adams Street in Peoria
o IL 29 will no longer travel through Washington Street in Peoria
