PEORIA, Ill -- The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced Tuesday that road construction is set to begin and utility construction will continue Monday, April 30 on IL 8 between Summit Dr. and Legion St. in Washington.
Traffic impacts could include the road being reduced to one lane with flagger control, and motorists should be prepared to stop.
The project consists of construction of five lanes of concrete pavement, medians, storm sewer, new sidewalks, and new driveways from Summit Dr. to Legion St. The roadway portion of the project is expected to be completed by mid-November next year.
