PEORIA, Ill -- The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced Thursday that construction work at the intersection of US 24 and IL 8 in Washington will begin August 27.
The work will consist of intersection modifications, median improvements, traffic signal repairs, and the construction of a sidewalk.
Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures and occasional four-way stops at the intersection while the work is under way. The project is expected to be completed by the end of October.
