PEORIA, Ill -- The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Monday that westbound traffic on IL 8 (Washington Road) in Washington between Legion Road and Summit Drive will be shifted north onto the new pavement Thursday, November 8th.
Eastbound traffic will remain on the existing pavement until early December.
The traffic shift is associated with the reconstruction project that will widen Washington Road to five lanes.
The roadway portion of the project is expected to be completed by November 2013.
