IDOT suspending some projects for 4th of July

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today they will be suspending non-emergency construction projects across the state to improve traffic flow on the 4th of July.

The suspension officially begins Thursday at 3 p.m.

Projects to be suspended in the area include:

The Business 55/Veterans Parkway project over Interstate 74 in Bloomington will have passing lanes blocked off on both sides of the road. A marked traffic pattern will be in use.

The eastbound I-74 ramp to southbound I-155 near Morton will be reduced to one lane.

Eastbound Illinois Route 116 north of Illinois Route 26 will be reduced to one lane. There will be a crossover.

Illinois Route 9 approximately 2.5 miles west of Mackinaw will be reduced to one lane with temporary traffic signals in place.
