TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. -- Intermittent lane closures on IL 116 at Ten Mile Creek in Tazewell County are scheduled to begin as early as Monday, August 26.
The Illinois Department of Transportation said the lane closures are necessary for shoulder and median work to be completed.
Two lanes will be open to traffic on westbound IL 116 between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
Two lanes will be open to traffic on eastbound IL 116 between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
The lane closures are expected to continue through November.
The overall project includes the replacement of the bridge carrying IL 116 over Ten Mile Creek. Bridge replacement work is scheduled to begin in Spring of 2014.
