PEORIA, Ill. -- Lane reductions will be in effect next week on Sterling Avenue, constricting traffic near Northwoods mall.
The city of Peoria said a contractor will be installing a new sanitary sewer service connection, which will close two of the three lanes on southbound Sterling Avenue past Scenic Drive.
The southbound far right lane of Sterling Avenue will be closed starting the morning of Monday, February 27.
A second lane will be closed on the morning of February 28, then continuing through March 5, reducing traffic to one lane.
Motorists should expect long delays and traffic congestion, and plan an alternate route to avoid this construction.
Direct access from Sterling Avenue to Lagron Miller and Sterling Family Restaurant will be blocked.
Both businesses can be accessed off Rockwood Avenue or through the parking lot entrance immediately after the closed lane to the south of the construction.
As always, please use extra caution while driving through work zones.
