Peoria International Airport construction affects road access

PEORIA, Ill. – Two construction projects at the Gen. Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport will affect access to the entrance road.

The right lane of the entrance road to the terminal is blocked before the statue of Downing.

The entrance to the parking lot on the west side of the terminal is also blocked off, though there is another entrance still available 150 yards away.

“This project should last less than two months,” said Gene Olson, Director of Airports. “The short term traffic flow changes will result in an airport with easier access and a better margin of safety in the long run.”
