West Timber Creek Road, from Jarmon Street in Elmwood to McClellan Road, will have intermittent lane closures until early December.
The Peoria County Highway Department says work will begin on Wednesday, August 10.
The closures are necessary for the replacement of the Walnut Creek bridge.
Motorists are urged to find an alternative route.
