PEORIA, Ill.-- A traffic shift on I-474 at the Shade-Lohmann Bridge may cause traffic delays over the course of the next week.
Beginning Thursday, November 10, road crews will begin switching the current traffic consideration back to the regular configuration.
The Illinois Department of Transportation says this shift is expected to take approximately one week.
But, the project will continue starting April 1, 2012, with the possibility of intermittent lane closures during that time and also the temporary two-way traffic pattern on the eastbound span of the bridge as the project continues.
IDOT says that once the work on the westbound span is completed next year, traffic will be moved to that span in the same two-way pattern while crews work on the eastbound span. That portion of the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2012 or early 2013.
Please watch for trucks entering and leaving the highway as well as workers near the center line of the road. As always, please slow down and use extreme caution while driving through all work zones.
