PEORIA, Ill. -- A segment of Fredonia Avenue will be temporarily closed to motorists as contractors begin setting modular building components for a new structure.
City staff said due to the large size of the units and the equipment needed in the construction, Fredonia Avenue will be closed between Institute Place and Glenwood Avenue.
This closure will begin the morning of Monday, January 23, and continue through approximately mid-week.
The road will open to traffic on January 26. There will be no access to this block for parking during the closure.
In addition to the road closure, parking will be banned along the north side of Fredonia Ave between Institute Place and Western Avenue to allow for the large units to be transported to the site.
All vehicles must be moved from the north side of Fredonia Ave by Sunday night and remain off the north side of the road until the no parking signs are removed mid week.
Please plan your travels and parking accordingly to avoid delays.
