PEKIN, Ill. -- Several area churches want Pekin tornado victims to know they have not been forgotten.

On Monday, members of three different Church of Christ congregations distributed food, cleaning supplies, kitchen wares and bedding to tornado victims in a parking lot on 8th Street in Pekin.

The goods are trucked in from the Church of Christ Disaster Relief in Nashville which has been doing this type of work for more than 20 years.

"As people come in and talk to us and give us their needs, then we work with that and then we schedule some deliveries and work with the people and get what they need,” said Operations Director Bryan Reeves.

The group also receives furniture, and soon appliances, to help area tornado victims. They plan to continue distributions for several more months.
