WASHINGTON, Ill. – A Washington family is reunited with their dog following Sunday’s tornado.

Jon Byler Dann was hunkering in his Washington basement with his four children when the storm hit. His family was safe after the storm passed, but the family dog, Maggie, was missing.

Nearly 30 hours later, while searching through all that was left of the home, family friends heard a faint bark coming from beneath where they were standing.

They immediately started digging and discovered Maggie buried beneath the rubble, wrapped in a piece of carpeting.

Maggie is being treated for broken bones and possible internal injuries, but is expected to be okay.
