Tornado victim donation drop-off locations

Organizations across the area are accepting donations for victims of Sunday’s tornadoes. See the list below for needed items and drop-off locations. This list will be updated with new locations as they come in.


* You can donate by to Red Cross relief efforts by visiting, calling 1-800-RED CROSS, mailing it to the local chapter or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

That donation helps provide food, shelter and emotional support to those affected by disasters.

*Apricot Lane is accepting clothing donations Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Affected residents can also go there to pick up clothing items. It is located in the old Seno Formalwear location (next to Marshalls) in the Shoppes at Grand Prairie.

 *Glad Tidings Assembly of God 2201 E. Washington St   East Peoria, IL  61611 is accepting allergy-free foods, food, cleaning supplies and new & like-new clothing from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

*The Hope Chest in Pekin is accepting items for those affected.

* The Farmington Fire Department is collecting items at 49 Cone St. until 8 p.m. Monday night.

* The Grand Day of Giving will be held at the Shoppes at Grand Prairie on Saturday, November 23 from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Bring your donation to the Shoppes Management Office on Saturday and you will receive a special gift, along with a list of store specials.

They will be accepting donations for:

Coats for Kids - New or gently used coats

Local Food Pantries  - Non-perishable food items

The Red Cross - Monetary donations

*The Peoria Area Association of Realtors are collecting supplies at PAAR headquarters at 7307 N. Willowlake Court in Peoria or any local real estate office. Pickup can be arranged for larger donations from churches, businesses or neighborhood groups by calling (309) 688-8591.

*Dozer Park has teamed up with the Washington Chamber of Commerce to collect donations. At this time they do NOT need any more clothes.
