Accident in Fulton County Kills 3, Sends 11 Others to Hospital

A head-on collision involving an SUV and van shut down a section of IL Route 9 near Banner Marsh in Fulton County for some time Tuesday.

The accident occurred before 8:30 Tuesday morning after an SUV crossed center line and struck a Tazewell County Resource Center van head on.

According to witnesses, the SUV burst into flames upon impact.

The Fulton County Sheriff's Office says the driver of the SUV, Kenneth A. Crosno, 25, of Canton, was pronounced dead at the scene by Fulton County Coroner Steve Hines.

Two passengers of the van, Ramona Hickman, 49, and Martha Lindsey, 51, both of Canton, were also pronounced dead at the scene.

Eleven other van passengers, including the driver, Donna Tucker, 48, of Creve Coeur, were transported to area hospitals, including OSF St. Francis Medical Center and Graham Hospital in Canton. Tucker was lifeflighted to OSF and remains in serious condition.

Others injured in the crash were:
Vicki Bowton, 61, of Canton. Bowton was transported to OSF by AMT and remains in serious condition at OSF.
Mark Duez, 29, of Canton. Duez was transported to Graham by Fulton EMA. His condition is unknown at this time.
Robert James, 61, of Canton. James was transported to Graham by Fulton EMA. His condition is unknown at this time.
Peggy McDermid, 59, of Canton. McDermid was transported to Graham by Fulton EMA and is listed in fair condition.
Ginger McIntosh, 37, of Canton. McIntosh was transported to Graham by Fulton EMA and remains in critical condition at Graham.
Amanda Ross, 26, of Peoria. Ross was transported to Graham by Fulton EMA. Her condition is unknown at this time.
Randall Rumbold, 54, of Canton. Rumbold was lifeflighted from the scene to OSF and remains in serious condition at OSF.
Barbie Summers, 35, of Canton. Summers was transported to OSF by AMT and is listed in fair condition.
Bryan West, 31, of Canton. West was transported to Graham by Fulton EMA. His condition is unknown at this time.
Michael Wilhelm, 45, of Canton. Wilhelm was transported to Graham by Fulton EMA. His condition is unknown at this time.

Additionally, Jamie Durdel, TCRC President and CEO, offered his condolences to the families of those affected, stating:

"The thoughts and prayers of the staff of Tazewell County Resource Centers are with the families of those lost today in this tragic accident. Our immediate efforts are focused on supporting the families and friends of those lost and ensuring that those who are involved are well taken care of."
